The Brown Bag Ministry through G.O. Community Development Corporation developed in January 2016 when the three Presbyterian Churches, First, Trinity, and East side, agreed to coordinate an outreach program to aid in combating hunger in our area for children. On the second Friday of each month at 10:00 am, volunteers from each Church meet at Trinity and fill 90 bags with food items such as bologna or ham sandwiches, cookies, fruit, juice and chips and deliver them to the G.O ministry site on Station Avenue which distributes the bags at the Friday evening hot meal program so that children, which comprise 40% of the people being served, will have a meal on the weekend. This outreach program has brought the volunteers from the three churches closer together and the fellowship and service we share has returned many blessings to us as we serve our Lord.
